Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve

It's getting cold outside! Have you ever had extremely dry hands with an itchy, rough, even chapped feeling? Let me tell you, in -40 degree Canadian weather this has happened! Horrible, painful... NO FUN! I have tried SO many hand creams out there and so many of them just did not do the trick. Some of them left my hands feeling sticky others stung my skin.
There are a few tricks you can try out to avoid flakiness, that rough tight feeling and chapped hands.
1. Avoid using harsh soap and hot water to wash your hands.
2. Apply hand moisturizer after you wash your hands and before you go to bed (you can put on special borghese gloves at night to keep that moisture in the skin).
3. KEEP YOURSELF HYDRATED. Especially in dry climates you need to drink more water: at least 8-10 glasses of water a day.
4. ALWAYS wear gloves in the winter AND when you use detergents.
5. Exfoliate your hands with a light exfoliant to remove dead skin cells so your moisturizer will penetrate deeper into your dry skin.

My favourite hand moisturizer is the Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. This completely treats your dry hands and does not leave your hands feeling sticky or slippery after using it. My hands have never felt so soft... EVER! You do not need to use much (about a quarter size). Now I haven't used La Mer products yet... maybe one day when I have tons of money to spend I will but for the moment Kiehl's is the best for me! I hope you try it and remember your face and body are not the only parts that need to stay hydrated... YOUR HANDS loose moisture all the time! Take care of them.
On this note... I'm off to bed with soft hands thanks to Kiehl's.
PS: I bought this for $27 at Holt Renfrew. Enjoy!
